The leader of portable ice rink systems across Canada

Canada is the true north strong and free, a place where a cup of coffee is glued to your hand and the hockey arena is your second home. But what if you didn’t have to spend so much time at the cold rink? What if your child could practice and build a love for the game in your own backyard? First Line Rinks has your answer….

First Line Rinks has quickly become the leader of portable ice rink systems across Canada.  Originating from Barrie Ontario, the company prides itself for providing arena grade ice for their customer base. Some notable clients include present and former NHLers – Patrick Marleau, Francois Beauchemin, Mikhail Grabovski, Mike Cammalleri and Garrett Wilson. From small rinks sized at 20’x40’ to NHL sized 85’x200’, First Line Rinks can make your outdoor rink dream come true. Providing options of custom dasher boards, synthetic ice, refrigerated ice or athletic court systems for each customers vision.

For Owners Tyler Agostini and Jacob McKendry, it is much more than just hockey rinks, it’s about bringing the game they love to your backyard. Both Agostini and McKendry grew up around hockey and spent their childhood on an outdoor rink with friends and family. Waking up early and staying out late on the ice was some of the most memorable childhood memories for both. First Line Rinks has the ability to drive this passion into the business and provide a turnkey ice rink system for others to enjoy.

What separates First Line Rinks from their competitors is their service offerings. Once an order is placed, the company has a crew that installs the rink for you, maintains the ice, takes the rink down at the end of the season and stores the rink away at their warehouse facility in Barrie. The only thing their clients have to do is enjoy their rink with friends and family!

The refrigerated ice rink package is one of the companies highest selling items on their product line. The outdoor rink is a staple for Canadians kids growing up but unfortunately it is not cold enough for the ponds, lakes and natural DIY rinks to freeze early enough to really enjoy ice.  This technology offered by First Line Rinks allows families to skate in +10Celsuis weather, extending the skating season from roughly 2 months to 5. An air cooled chilling system pumps glycol to mats under the ice surface which freezes the water. It is the same system used for the NHL Winter Classic and various permanent arenas across the world.

First Line Rinks says they have big plans to accommodate their rapid growth, but are enjoying the process and keeping each of their clients happy and skating.
