An evening of immersive fashion theatre

Video by Sprout Wise

Saturday June 1 was an evening to remember. Designers, model installations, and fascinating exhibits, inspiring treats and cocktails, and a high fashion theatre show with surprise musical guests, was an amalgamation of theatrical high fashion and performing arts. A sight for the senses, to say the least.

Now in our 16th year of fashion theatre production, our team continues to take a forward-thinking approach to the fashion society, introducing yet again ways to best showcase artists by merging national and local designers, musicians and the body.  Artists, sculptors, dancers and musicians have always been key players in the celebration of all of our Pie productions. We serve as the connection linking these communities together to best represent the culture of the Canadian fashion arts industry.

“This is my most important show to me on a personal level, collaborating with my favourite designers and closest friends working intimately with the Pie family to create Elysium. A lifetime of friendships and fashion has brought us together to create new memories that evoke joy till the end of time. Do not take that for granted” – Sandra Roberts

We are grateful to all of our sponsors and guests and would like to extend a great big thank you to you all for your support, sponsorship, attendance and contribution that made Elysium possible. Our Restyle Project with the Women and Children’s Shelter of Barrie will be made possible because of you!

We are getting ready to embark on a Restyle Project that will greatly improve the lives of women and children in our community who need our help. The Women & Children’s Shelter of Barrie is a registered non-profit charity governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and staffed by trained professionals. All services are free of charge and confidential. Partial funding for our agency comes from the Ministry of Community & Social Services, with the balance generated through fundraising events and private donations. They maintain a 27-bed shelter location for women who have left abusive relationships with or without their children and an off-site location for women in the community who are seeking support. Agency staff provides counselling, safety planning, women and children’s groups, legal and court support, referrals, and information and education about violence against women.

To learn how you can help or add social impact, please contact Sandra Roberts 705-229-0143 or Kelly Letourneau at 705-792-2188.

“The Women and Children’s Shelter of Barrie thank Pie Media Group for their support. With efforts put forth from Sandra and her Pie Media team we are excited to begin renovations of our Room 13. Thank you to everyone who are making this possible.”
