TORONTO, ON – On day two of Toronto Fashion Week®, top designers showcased their latest SS/2020 designs at various locations in the heart of Yorkville, including Fashion HouseThe Hazelton Hotel and the Royal Ontario Museum.
Day two kicked off with a live podcast taping of The Brand Is Female at the Hazelton Hotel, exploring the topic of women who are disrupting fashion with BonLook Founder & CEO Sophie Boulanger. Later on, Fashion Talks™, produced in partnership with CAFA™, welcomed Ron White, Canada’s “Shoeru” who commands a loyal celebrity following with over twenty years of experience designing innovative footwear.

Kim Newport made her return to the runway today at Toronto Fashion Week with the debut of her new evening-wear line, entitled the Kim Newport Collection. A modern girl’s guide to glamour, the collection offered relevant, timeless pieces for life’s most special occasions. The line included dresses in an elegant palette of black, white and pink.

RVNG Couture made a grand entrance with a collection of ready-to-wear garments and couture gowns inspired by Rodeo Drive. Each piece in the collection remained true to the brand’s principles of delivering clothing with exemplary craftsmanship, born of a rigorous artisanal process that created the ultimate experience in elegance.

NARCES SS/2020 collection featured a vibrant colour palette of cocktail and evening dresses, jumpsuits and unconventional bridal gowns within tulle, sequin, paillette, and lace fabrics. Inspired by the strength of a female warrior who fights for change, the designer’s signature designs were incorporated throughout the collection by way of high necks, long sleeves and strong shoulders.

The Feral closed the night with a powerful SS/2020 collection, brought about as a direct response to a growing feeling of unease caused by climate change. Dubbed, The Change, the collection relied on a high level of craftsmanship, unique cutting details, multiple pockets and traps with textures and shapes serving as armour against an uncertain future.

The night also featured XPOSED at Yorkville Village’s The Oval, an event which exhibited a photo series titled Icon in the Making, featuring Canadian-born YouTube sensation, actress and model Gigi Gorgeous. The new photo series was shot by world renowned fashion photographer Chris Nicholls featuring art treatments by Lorca and Finley Moore.
