Toronto Fashion Week® announces new art initiative, Style Art, in collaboration with community initiative, Style Plate

Fashion, food and art come together for the perfect pairing, from September 3-5
Toronto Fashion Week®, Canada’s leading event in fashion, food and culture, is now adding fine art to their roster. Returning for another delectable season,STYLE PLATE will be serving up innovative and diverse fashion-focused activations, while new sister initiative, STYLE ART, welcomes a new artistic twist to this year’s programming. Collaborating with local restaurants and art galleries across the Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood from Sept. 3 – Sept. 5, this STYLE-series will celebrate and showcase artistic experiences across multiple platforms.

STYLE ART, new to Toronto Fashion Week this season, will be teaming up with local Toronto artists and art galleries to showcase extraordinary pieces that merge the worlds of art and fashion. Hosted at The Hazleton Gallery, LUMAS Gallery, Liss Gallery, Taglialatella Gallery, Galerie de Bellefeuille and Judith & Charles, and showcasing the creative works of renowned artists, STYLE ART will paint the community of Yorkville in colourful and eccentric multidisciplinary pieces that will focus on the beauty and balance of fashion.

On Sept. 5, Style Art presents ‘Art Crawl’, which will allow fashion and art enthusiasts to check out all participating galleries until 8 or 9pm while enjoying bubbly and sweets.

“Fashion in itself is art, and the world of art fuels fashion; together, they work as equally collaborative parallels that influence the world around them,” says Carolyn Quinn,Executive Director, Toronto Fashion Week. “By bringing together fashion and art in an immersive environment such as StyleArt, we are hoping provoke discussion by creating a direct connection between the two realms.”

Serving up its third consecutive season, STYLE PLATE returns with more collaborative partnerships, creative dishes and cocktails for one week. Starting Sept. 1, chefs and mixologists from local Yorkville restaurants and bars will team up with Toronto Fashion Week to craft fashion-infused cocktails and dishes to celebrate this season’s latest collections.

This community initiative invites guests to experience the perfect pairing of style and dining, with exaggerated feature cocktails and mouth-watering dishes from Amber, Bar Reyna, Cibo, d|bar, Figures, The Hazelton Hotel, ONE, Palm Lane, Sofia, STK, and Trattoria Nervosa.
